As title says...please tell me about your imax....do you have petrol or diesel?
Do you find it sluggish with a full car or not?
Ummm and anything else.....
We have 6 kids and really need a large car preferably with all lap/sash belts which doesn't give us a lot of choices!!
Thanks in advance biggrin.gif

Only have 4 kids, so dont really know how it goes with a full load.
Ours is diesel, wouldnt bother with the petrol. I do find it slow on take off if you havent stopped completely, but it can easily and quite quickly get up to 100kph no problems.
I sometimes forget Im driving a big van. Feels like a normal car.

Despite its size, you will have some difficulty fitting in carseats. I have my 2 eldest in Infa boosters in the back and there really isnt room for a 3rd person in the middle. If I use the Hipods senators, there is as they sit better on the seats.
Its really hard to lift in a rear facing baby. Also there are only anchor points on the middle row which means you would either need a booster without an anchor point or have all 3 across the centre and un hook the seat belt to move the seat to access the back row. We had extra points fitted to ours.

The back door is really heavy to close and the central locking button on the key is flippin' annoying (unless they have changed it recently).

There are other little things that I would change, but then that would move the new price into the next bracket and at the time, we couldnt afford it.

Dont think I could go back to a small car full time since having the Imax.

We have a blue petrol Imax.
Although there is alot of legroom (even when filled with half a circus), and the chip wrappers and poppers, I feel the 2.4 litre pertol engine is quite sluggish when new. WE have around 33,000 kilometres on the clock now and it is alot more response, particularly when driving it like you stole it.. Overall I am pretty happy with it.

We are just about to buy one!
We hired one last year for a week long holiday and couldn't fault it.
It was a petrol one and even in a VERY hilly area we found it wonderful.
I had 4 in car seats so had my youngest 2 in the middle row in a Maxi rider AHR and a Meridian T&A. Both large car seats and my 9year old had plenty of room to sit next to them (near the right hand side sliding door, as that is the only middle seat that moves forward for rear access.) My 6yr & 8Yr olds went in the 3rd row in Pegasus boosters. When we purchase one i will have an additional 2-3 anchor points installed as i prefer anchor boosters though.
The one we hired had 120,00kms on it and was scratched a bit but ran like a dream.

I cant wait until we get ours to keep! original.gif

test drove a couple on the weekend and they did seem a little sluggish...both had 75 - 95000 on clocks so not exactly new!

We bought a brand new one just before Christmas. It is fantastic!

We have diesel. I have 4 car seats in it at the moment and I have no complaints about our seating arrangement. I have only two complaints, maybe three if I were to really pick the car to pieces.....

1. I don't like how if you turn on the interior light for the back seats it doesn't turn off by itself.

2. We got the car mats (which isn't really about the car) and have found it gets caught under the seat when we move it back and forth. It is slowly wearing away which is actually a good thing now, doesn't happen as often.

3. The boot is kind of heavy to lift up.

As I said, that's really picking it to pieces for me. If they fixed those 2/3 things I'd say it was perfect.

Thinking, thinking...
Mine is coming up to four years old in a month and I still love it! biggrin.gif I have the diesel and it's got plenty of grunt. We took it to Queensland (from Canberra) with all our luggage and six children last year and it was incredibly comfortable. biggrin.gif

I've only driven one for 4 days. Hire car, petrol, 4 adults and 3 kids on board, and tbh, it was so sluggish it drove me crazy.
