I really don't like going to the doctors about myself. I'd rather consult Dr Google which is of course not good.

I can't figure out why, anyone else the same?

When I'm not posting, I'm PINNING!
Sorry, Excentrique, not me! I never stick my head in the sand about anything to do with my health - my Mum does though, so does my husband. Drives me mental wacko.gif

What fresh hell is this?
Not like that at all - but then I have a fantastic GP who doesn't patronise me or make me feel silly about consulting her, which I will say helps immensely.

Yeah, I do anything I possibly can to avoid doctors. It's an absolute last resort. Maybe it's because I don't have a good one? I bounce around a few at our local medical centre, or go to a bulk billing walk in clinic. None of them I'd choose to go and see voluntarily.

I'm the same. It's a PITA trying to get to the doctor and waiting around with impatient kids in tow.

I have a really good GP, and I find that makes all the difference.

Our GPs are great, I try to only see mine but on the odd occasion I've seen someone else in the small practice (including the kids' doc) they have been fantastic.

And I am the idiot who consults Dr Google th2n goes to the Dr - so they must have the collective patience of all the saints ever martyred. laughing2.gif

I am the same.

My problem is whenever I go to the GP for anything at all they put it down to anxiety and/or depression. It even happened when I had the flu last year for the first time in my life. It took a couple of visits before I was actually diagnosed correctly rant.gif

I was like this until recently but have recently found a couple of GPs I am comfortable with.

I still consult Dr Google first though.

I think my hang ups come from finding it difficult to admit that I don't know everything.

I also dislike waiting room times and have had a couple of bad experiences with doctors.

Once while studying overseas and living in a dormitory, I was accused by a dr of being a 'carrier' for strep throat when the whole dorm became sick except for me.

I ended up being escorted to the doctors surgery for a throat culture. I didn't have strep throat and I didn't receive an apology.

My head needs to be about to fall off before I go to the doctors. No real reason I have a nice doctor, have time to go and everything and it is in walking distance from my house. I'm just a wait and see sort of person and nine times out of ten what ever is wrong goes away by itself. My husband is exactly the same and we are VERY VERY lucky in the fact that our son who Is four has only ever been ill (touch wood) once! However if I felt it was something serious I would probably go sooner! And if it was my child or bump I was worried about I would go straight away.
