Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a claim birthing class in Melbourne.

I live in the Knox area, and i am not the most relaxed person i would be more described as a stress head and i would really prefer not to have a epidural if it can be avoided.

any advice...good books or classes people have done?

thank you original.gif

cheers

Ellie

Hi Ellie,

We've just completed our calmbirth course. I'll PM you the details of who we went with.

I feel a lot more relaxed about the whole process now - our instructor got us to focus on how we want to feel when we look back at the birth. So for us, that's feeling like we've lead the process and been respected all the way through, no matter what happens - doing that has helped me stop focusing so much on the nitty gritty 'what ifs' and think about the big picture.

I also feel a lot more confident about coping with the sensations and staying at home as long as possible.

After searching high and low I found Lainey at lotuscalmbirth.

Actually, my obstetrician recommended her calmbirth classes to me. Thank goodness we went. I was petrified hands.gif and to be quite honest so was hubby. We loved the workshop. She is wonderful and informative. I think it really helped that she was a midwife and got us both totally prepared. Totally thinking Yeh!!!...We can do this!!

So....I gave birth to our beautiful little girl and can honestly say it was the best day of my life. biggrin.gif I breathed through my contractions and even though she was posterior, we did a few techniques Lainey taught us and she turned and out she came. Such a clever little thing... I diverge... sorry. Any how, just letting you know that she was great. Good luck bbabyflip.gif
