I finally splurged about 7 weeks ago and bought new asics. I love them. But I have noticed the past few days my feet seem to be slipping out of the back when jogging. I cannot afford another pair for quite a few weeks. I did google this and it seems common when losing weight to drop a shoe size. (27kg loss)
The question is, would putting them in the dryer shrink them enough to keep them going until I can afford new ones? This weight loss is costing me so much money. |

Size 8. I considered selling them, but thought would someone really buy secondhand shoes? Lol, I know I wouldn't. Going off to checkout used shoes..

Congrats on the weight loss. Have you tried changing the lacing pattern of the shoes? Sometimes you can improve the heel grip by changing the lacing. Many gym shoes have the extra holes around the side of the top ideal for tightening around the heel.
Hope that may help? |

Google 'lace lock' and that will show you how to do the laces so they don't slip at the back

Wear 2 pairs of socks, it stops blisters as well as stopping the shoes slipping. I also had to go up half a size when I got orthotics - so any kind of innersole would help I'd think.
Well done on the weightloss:) |

I'm another for the lock lace, will stop slipping. You could look at a pair of Thorlo or other padded socks too.
Be careful with adding an inner sole as it can change the support the shoes are giving you leading to injuries. Well done. This post has been edited by loubee: 11/02/2013, 12:20 AM |
