Hi

Our DS loves, adores, is obsessed with Lego!

I brought a teaching resource catalogue home from work and he has been madly building all the creations out of the pictures. Is there a book with idea for building in it? He is only 5 so not too complicated, he has a big mix of duplo and the small block, but we are not doing the sets yet. He just loves building the stuff out of the pics, so I thought surely there is like a pattern book or something?

thanks

Heaps such books in Costco atm. I can still see some Kmarts stock it. Failing that join the lego kids club.

Hi

Yes, there is a Lego Idea book, which you can find in Big W, Target, Kmart, which my daughter keeps eyeing off, because she is a great lego fan, however, it doesn't give you instructions on how to make each thing, and the things you can make depends on if you have the parts to make it as well. You can buy lego parts online, which was mentioned on a thread a few months ago that you can search. I came to the conclusion that I would have to buy too many parts for my daughter to make the other things, so didn't buy the book.
Here is a link to the book: http://www.bigw.com.au/entertainment/books...lego-ideas-book
Cheers.
Mary.

Just go to the Lego site, pick a picture and the instructions come up. Much better.

The Lego Ideas book does have great things that are made. However there are no instructions and they are quite complicated. My DS1 loves it though.

We are also members of the Lego Club. Well worth it. I had to join both my sons up cause they were fighting over the magazines/posters etc. They also have instructions for basic little things too, which both my sons love to have a go at.

There is a Lego artist called Sean Kenney (who is brilliant) but he has produced some books for younger builders. It includes both ideas and instructions. They are not huge (only 32 pages) but I think they are lovely.

I have a number of the Lego ideas books and Lego building guides (I collect Lego) and they are all great, but probably better for kids a little older. (The Lego Builders Guide in particular is more for older users).

Otherwise, Peeron is a great resource. Lego used to produce these brilliant lego ideas books. My favourite is 6000 (click here) and peeron has them all in PDF (plus instructions for sets).

The other option is Brickmasters which come with Lego instructions and the bricks to build them (BigW, Target and Myer normally have them).

Where are they on the Lego, it will be so obvious I am sure original.gif was just on Lego.com and I couldn't see the section. I went into create and share but that just looked like somewhere to upload?

If you know the number of a set you want to build, click the link, add the number and you get the instructions.

Oy you can click the drop down box and get instructions for different themes.

The instructions are all from sets.

Are there any duplo idea books?
I saw these cards but they seem expensive and out of stock locally.

Anyone have a free pdf version of these?
