ANNE of Green Gables has ditched her red hair and braids for a "sexy" blonde makeover - and fans are outraged.
Booklovers have expressed their disgust at the new cover of the children's classic which features an attractive young girl, posing coquettishly without her famous auburn hair.
The infamous red-haired 11-year-old Canadian orphan who once adorned the cover is now illustrated as a "blonde, buxom and bedroom-eyed cowgirl" on the latest edition, which is currently being sold on Amazon.

“Truths and roses have thorns about them.”
There are whole elements of the story based on her getting in fights over her red hair.

Trying to die it.

WTF are they thinking?

Don't worry ladies, tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it wink.gif

(Also WTF were they thinking? They could have at least had her with raven black hair like she imagines she has when she's Cordelia)

Surely this has to be a joke.
Though it makes me worried about what they may have done to the literature inside the cover. What have they changed there?

Who like the Emily Books too?

Just wrong. There should be laws protecting the original content and concepts of stories of old.
