Hi
We are looking at (finally!) painting our loungeroom walls The rest of the house (well public areas) is Solver Paints "Beaver" colour - it's a warm brown sort of colour - not too dark, but not too light either. Skirtings etc. are white, and our tiles are a neutral colour. In our loungeroom we have a chocolate brown leather lounge suite, a dark wood coffee table, and a dark brown entertainment unit. The room is also quite dark, so I can't go too dark in colour either (I think the colour of the rest of the house would be too dark). There is one large wall and the other walls are partial (windows/door frames etc.). Floor covering will be replaced, as will window coverings, so not trying to match in with those. We also have raked ceilings with exposed beams in a dark colour wood. I'm open to buying new furniture (not a new loungesuite though as it was only purchased last year, and the entertainment unit would have to wait too). I do like warm/neutral tones, however I'm not the best at decorating so I'm worried I might make it look a bit boring. I would love to hear your ideas! Thanks |

Hi,
We are renovating at the moment, and just picked one of our colours as Smoked Pearl - from Solver. We also have a dark chocolate lounge and furniture. Got the tick from the interior designer too!!! Have a look and see what you think.... it's more of a grey tone rather than yellowy. ETA - that didn't really asnwer your question, it was just another colour alternative. No I don't think it will be boring, you can always acessoriese with bright lamps, vases cushions etc with a different blending colour. This post has been edited by KateTwinMum: 10/02/2013, 09:24 AM |

I painted my whole house in Wattyl White Pepper (1/2 strength) and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. It's warm but not dark and I've had so many comments about the colour choice
It's like a stone/grey colour with a tiny hint of green in it. This is a picture I found off the net. This post has been edited by belinda1976: 10/02/2013, 12:40 PM |
