My husband and I are due to have our first baby girl in 2 months and can't decide between the name Lucy or Grace (Gracie for nn). The middle name will be Elizabeth and our surname starts with L. Would love some opinions. Thanks! original.gif

I would normally pick Lucy but not sure with an L surname. That said I gave my DS a L name with a L surname. I guess it depends on what the surname is

I prefer Lucy - I think Grace is far too common at the moment.

Thanks heaps for your replies already!! I agree Grace is very common but love the meaning and think its so pretty. I think Lucy is so cute but have always wondered if it's come from name Lucifer. Is that silly? I knowit means light and Lucifer was the angel of light.

Both lovely names, but I'd put Grace with an L surname, though it seems most don't agree with this. I grew up with an alliterative name and disliked it.
