Hi Guys,

If there are no medical reasons they will probably leave it as late as possible - 39 weeks.

My first baby it was 39 weeks and baby number 2 it looks like the same unless I go into labour first. Both will be at the private hospital. I understand some public hospitals do it at 38 weeks

It use to be the "norm" to have it at 38 weeks but most OB's like to leave it until 39 now unless medically needed. With DS1 I was booked in for 37 weeks but suffered anxiety and stress due to DD being still born before him. This time however I am booked in for 38+4 but this baby also falls over Easter holidays.

Even with pre eclampsia ( under control and monitored) and even though both babies had IUGR, the plan was always to get as close to 39 weeks as possible.
DD was scheduled for 39+1 but waters broke the day before so delivered later that day. DS was scheduled for 39+1 and delivered on that date. Good luck! |
