Had my morphology scan yesterday morning. All went great, little guy is looking perfect, and no problems detected, thankfully. That's the most important thing.

However, I'm a little disappointed that I was only given photos on xray paper? I didn't really think anything of it at the time, so didn't say anything. But we had a few morph scans in my DIG today, and the other girls have uploaded their pics to FB from disc - something I can't easily do without taking photos of the photos (which is difficult with light etc from the xrays).

I'm wondering if it's worthwhile ringing the radiology clinic and asking if it's still possible to have them put on a disc? Or would that be pointless?

What kind of photos were you given? This was at a private clinic where I've paid upfront and only partially refunded from Medicare, so not a free/bulk billed scan.

Thanks,

DS i got 1-2 printed photos, DD and this time around i've had nothing, no disc, no prints (Bulk billed with dd, paid for this time around).

I wouldn't ring and ask, i'd be thankful i got something, and leave it at that

I am thankful for 'something' but just a little disappointed when I see others with discs wink.gif Even when bulk billed! It's strange, with my first 3, my morph scans were all done at the hospital, and bulk billed, and I still had printed photo paper pictures, as well as the xray style ones. This time I've paid at a private clinic and received less than when bulk billed.

Anyway, from my DIG it seems I'm the only one who hasn't received a disc or at least printed photos (from either current pregnancy or previous). One of the girls said at her clinic, they gave discs, but only if you ask. Worth a phone call anyway maybe. Not like I'm going to be demanding, just asking if it's possible.

Would love to hear from others?

With DS I got a couple printed photos, with DD I got nothing because the lady didn't know how to print pictures off the machine. I was disappointed at the time but never done anything about it. All my scans were at a private place.

If a cat doesn't like you, then what's wrong with you?
With mine I got a disk from the sonographer, but when I first got there the receptionist said that I'd have to wait to collect the film. I didn't wait so am not sure if there was film as well.

I know at this particular sonography place I have been given film in the past, but then at other branches I have been given discs. So I'm not sure....l

In the days before morph scans I got a grainy picture on photo paper where all I could ever make out in the picture were the vertebrae and the skull.

I think it all depends on where you go. I got a disk with photos plus 2-3 3D shots. I chose to go there because of this.

The other xray place I went to for my elective gender scan gave a disk as well but no 3D or photos, just xray films.

Maybe you can ring around and find someone who provides a disk and organise an elective scan closer to 30 weeks and get some 3D photos too.

We go to Sound Diagnostics Radiology and they always give us a few printed on paper as souvenirs. I think you can also pay an extra fee (maybe $40) which entitled you to extra photos and a CD. Doubt I will do that for morphology - might wait and go for a 3D scan later in the pregnancy.

I do think it's a shame they only gave you films...I treasure the little printed snaps I've collected of my babies' ultrasounds.

So pleased to hear your little man is all well. Wish me luck - I have morphology on Monday!

My older son's one and only US pics (he's 23) were like this...barely could tell he was a baby! So pleased we get to see them now - great for bonding! original.gif
