we have Junior Monopoly, and Bean loves it.

I thought, I'd go buy a new version of the game, and was overwhelmed with the options.

What is the best version and why?

The frayed old 1940s English version that sat in the back of the cupboard in our holiday house.

Why?

Because all the tokens were made of metal and the fights over who got what were legendary.

Also because I swallowed the little dog in about 1974 and he went 'chink' when I pooed him out again! After that I ALWAYS got to have the little dog - no-one fought for him any more!

Sometimes I really wanted the iron though..

Dad got the car - Dad always got the car..... he wouldn't play if he wasn't the car.

Mum to two boys!! :O
We have the Kids version and then at a holiday house we stayed at they had the old traditional one (with pounds!) and DS1 LOVED it (he's 7). We got our classic travel version out when we got home and they love it.

laughing2.gif I am always the dog. DH told me yesterday they are getting rid of the iron and replacing it with a cat. Great move IMO. No one ever wants the iron (apart from Countrmel apparently) .

We have tropical Monopoly and Monopoly City. The Tropical one has a CD and it is interactive. FIne for the first 10 times then gets a bit boring, although DD (10) still likes it (good for younger kids). The City version, quite complicated to remember all the rules. And someone always knocks over your buildings.

Original the best so far.

You won't be pleased that they're getting rid of it, then. They're replacing the iron with a cat.

Original all the way here, especially the old 50s version we used to have. Only if I get to be the top hat though.
