Hi,

We have a sunroom that is colour bond and fly screen that the 3 cats spend a lot of their time in.

The screen has now been ripped and needs to be replaced.

Would bunnings have fly screen that would be cat proof?

Or if not does anyone know where I could get some from and what it's called?

Try a metal mesh instead. Can be purchased from Bunnings & Masters or any larger Hardware stores.

Cats can still climb it but will have great difficultly damaging it.

Crim Safe is definitely cat proof, I'd give it a big thumbs up too. Don't think it's available in your average Bunnings though. Have a look on Google

You can buy pet proof fly screen mesh. It's called something like "Pet Proof" and Bunnings used to sell it although you can probably get it cheaper from a window maker. It's not as tough as Crimsafe but it's a hell of a lot cheaper!

There is a thicker metal flyscreen mesh you can buy - it is a bit pricey but will do the job. Otherwise if you use normal mesh but don't give it great tension it is harder (but not impossible) to be ripped up

I tried that metal one and found that while it was tougher, when the cats did manage to rip it, it would rip all the way down. The one we have now is the pet proof one and it feels quite plasticky. It's a bit thicker than normal fly screen and after 2 years still looks as good as new.

We use this, Bunnings still sell it. The cat claws her way up and down all day and the dog scrabbles at it to get in, and it doesn't get damaged.

You can get hard metal screens from security door companies. Similar to the crimsafe stuff but there are cheaper types.
We have this on our door and even our very strong dog can't rip it when he paws at the door.

Forget metal. Unless you get something like crimsafe ($$$) it wont stand up to kitty claws.
I second the pet proof stuff. As a pp said, it is quite thick and plasticky, but it is extremely resilient.

I have metal on one screen door. Has been there for just over a year and it looks like swiss cheese. The pet proof stuff has been on for as long as I've had my kitties (2.5 years) and still looks brand new. And we're talking insane, jumpy, climby kittens here!
