I am COVETING some Alexander McQueen boots. I saw them in a magazine, then in Myer and since then I have been thinking about them a lot. I would get a lot of wear out of them for potentially years and they are gorgeous.

But they are $700.

I can afford them no problems, but I am not sure I could live with the guilt!

$700 is about 1/6 of our weekly take home salary - in relative terms, would you spend 1/6 of your take home household income on one pair of boots? Would it be worth it anyway if I felt guilty about being sucked in by such consumerism?!

Sure, why not buy them. I mean you have the money, so go for it.

I wouldn't spend 1/6th of our pay on boots no. Although that is under $100 for us, I don't value shoes at all.

I can't find a link!

They are flat-ish black leather ankle boots with a little chain. Versatile and probably comfortable. Weekend shoes, rather than work shoes.

My resolve is crumbling already!

Prior to having children? Yes definitely!
...now, post children? My kankles probably wouldn't fit into them and there is no point wearing McQueen on the school run ... So, no I wouldn't.
Pics of the boots please and I may reconsider tongue.gif
