I have just had 2 positive home pregnancy tests and because I work in the health care industry I had to tell staff because some patients put myself and possible faetus at risk. hope without not knowing blood results I didn't speak to soon and jinx myself. please tell me I did the right thing?

Don't worry now. If something had is going to happen, it is going to happen. I don't think telling will jinx things, because I don't believe in that. I hope your pregnancy goes perfect
Y but if it doesn't, perhaps having your boss know isn't such a bad thing? I needed a few days off when I miscarried so told my boss what happened. On a happier note, look at Kate Middleton, having to announce to the world early due to being ill.

Dont worry, you have done the right thing for yourself and bub. I had to tell my boss at 5 weeks due to severe morning sickness and CRAZY hormonal mood swings that would have had me fired otherwise, also had to limit my heavy lifting etc. Being as you work in the health industry you will have your own limits, and I would expect that your work will accommodate them

Jinxing isn't real. I think that the support and understanding of your boss will be valuable to you whether this is a sticky pregnancy or not. Also, considering occupational risks to your pregnancy, you did the right thing by letting them know - imagine if you had kept quiet and occupational risks resulted in a miscarriage?

Thanks for all your support. Trust me, I'm doing everything to keep myself and bub safe and healthy. I just feel bad for saying well before 12weeks, I haven't even told friends or family yet.

I had to fess up to a couple of people at work, because there were a couple of patients I couldn't go in and see. They very kindly kept it quiet until I could officially announce. My 7 week old survived the jinxing OK!

It's a tricky call, I was working in psychiatry in both my pregnancies, the first one in a clinical role. I told people at about 9 weeks and removed myself from Emergency Response at around the same time both pregnancies. Do what you feel comfortable with.
