I am a Family day carer trying to get on top of the new EYLF and all the associated paperwork . I have a Diploma (from the Uk in 1996) so am ''trained'' and very experienced but I am still finding it a LOT for one person to cope with on top of being a sole parent (husband works away all year) for 4 daughters .

So I am just wondering how it is working in the Long day care setting ? I am wondering if they have really thought through this ''One size fits all system'' ?

Do the team leaders/room leaders do all the planning and the childcare workers do the observations ? Or is one person doing everything for one room/one age group ?

OP, I'm NSW and LDC. I have found the transition easy and gradual. I have a lot of organisational support. I don't see the EYLF at all as a one size fits all system but rather a - this is how what I/we do links to the framework.

I am very happy to give more specific assistance. What planning and documentation are you using? How are you currently documenting children's learning? I can be more specific if I know what you are currently doing and what you are trying to achieve.
