My 3 yr old DD has always had her bath no problem. She hasn't liked the plug being pulled out, but as long as she was out of the bath it was ok.
3 nights ago, we let the water out of the bath and she saw a few toys still in the water. She lost it, and was crying & screaming. I rescued the toys and tried to reassure her that only water will fit down the hole.
Anyway, the night after she had a shower no problems, then she started crying about the shower too.
Tonight it really peaked as she saw me bath her sister. She was screaming, get her out, don't make her have a bath, she was so upset she started vomiting!!!

Any ideas on how I should handle this?

Hi,
My three all went through this phase. It takes a lot of encouragement, reassurance and persistence to get through it.

It may help if you hop in the shower or bath with her (if you feel comfortable doing so) until she feels she can be a "big girl" and go by herself.

Good luck.

Perhaps try a shower until the fear goes away? My little one gets scared from time to time, no reason, and equally, no reason why he gets over it either.

DS was scared of the bath for a long time. I washed him standing on the tiles or in the laundry tub. Eventually his fear subsided and now he loves it.

I would keep showering her, and lots of encouragement, praise and fun.

I have the opposite problem - my 7 year old HATES showers and always has. It is a big problem on holidays - before we book we have to check if it has a bath. If not, he will have a "bird bath" until we get home.
