Ok so a bit of background. I have SPD and SIJ, I am in LOTS of dicomfort all day long and not even panadol seems to work. I am having painful braxton hicks.. and my pelvis itself aches. So in short I am in alot of pain. I have a midwifes appointment tomorrow at the RBWH and was wondering if anyone that had a baby there has sucessfully had an internal check at 38 weeks and possably a S&S??
Thanks

I had 2 stretch and sweeps starting at around 38 wks. I'd have to check my card to tell you exactly when.

This pregnancy they will be doing stretch and sweeps from 38 wks but I'm being induced at 38+5 anyway.

I'm having one next week at 39.5 weeks but my ob warned me that a S&S is only going to work if my body is ready. It kinda kicks things along if the conditions are favourable if that makes sense. With DD1 I had one at 41 weeks but it didn't do much, with DD2 I had one at 41 weeks and went into labour straight away.

All the best OP, hope you have your bub soon.

I am having lots of painful Braxton hicks so I am hoping that bub is low enough and they can and will do it. I will be asking, I just hope that they will do it and my cirvix is favourable. It's good to hear that it can be done original.gif

I had one at 38 weeks. It lead to two weeks of pre-labour, losing plug, hindwater leaks... but no baby. I ended up being induced at 40+2. If you're ready, it will help, but if you're not, it won't. If I had my last pregnancy over again, I wouldn't bother, but I'd probably ask for one in future pregnancies just in case I'm luckier then!
