Hi,

I posted a few weeks back but my DH and I can still not make a decesion on DD2 name, due in a few weeks!

DD1 is called Emma, so we would like something that complements this, and is a classic, pretty name. I also would like to avoid the top ten names.

Our list which we have so far is (Middle name will be Rose):

- Mya (love this name, but concerned it sounds too much like the store- Myers???)

- Madeleine (Like this name too, but not sure about overused nm Maddie??)

- Molly (Cute little girl's name, but ? good adult name)

- Eva (have laways loved this name, but think it could be too matchy-matchy with Emma??)

- Georgia (DH's favourite, not sure if I am keen on the nm Georgie though- do you think she would be called this?)

Haha as you can see I am very undecided- any input, advice would be much appreciated. It is doing my head in!!

If a cat doesn't like you, then what's wrong with you?
I love Emma and Georgia or Emma and Madeline.

What about Alice?

I think any of the names you have mentioned are fine and go nicely with Emma, the only ones I'm not loving are Mya and Molly.

All are very pretty, though Molly is not really suited to an older adult (just imagining "Prime Minister Molly XX" ummm, no)...don't understand why Georgia would be given the nn Georgie - just as many syllables?!

What about Kate?

Georgia Rose is beautiful!!!!
Also really like Madeleine Rose
and both go well with Emma

I wouldnt worry too much about the NN's but if you can think of something different as a NN for either of those names start her on that young then most everyone will usually just use your NN's. Personally I think either of the nicknames for those names is nice anyways.

The other names are not as nice imo

- Mya - I really like this name but I dont think it is as Classic as Emma

- Madeleine - I dont like this so much. Mostly because of the nn Maddie.

- Molly - LOVE this!

- Eva - yes I think it is too matcy with Emma. Also it is pretty popular.

- Georgia - yes I think a Georgia would be called Georgie

other suggestions:

Lydia
Matilda (nn Tilly)

I adore the name Molly Rose wub.gif .

My DH had an aunt who was named Molly. I only knew her the last 22 years of her life. She died last year in her early 90's. I disagree with PPs that have said Molly doesn't suit adults as it suited my DH's aunt perfectly. It's a pretty and ladylike name which are both qualities that she had.

Mya - prefer Maya or Maia
Molly - nice and goes with Emma
Madeleine - nice and goes with Emma. what about Leni or Lena for nn's?
Eva - too close to Emma
Georgia - love this, goes with Emma - I would do nn Gigi

I think any of Molly, Madeleine or Georgia would work fine, and there are other nn's as suggested which you could introduce early if you wanted to avoid Maddie or Georgie.

Georgia would be my pick.
