What does it feel like when a baby has its foot (or whole leg!!) stuck under your rib?
I have been in excruciating pain for the past half hour or so. Just under my right rib cage...it is a whole lot worse when I try take a deep breath. Any idea what this could be? If it is baby under my rib how can I move her? I am 30weeks 5days. Please hellllp. |

How is your blood pressure? Its quite uncomfortable with a baby under the ribs but for me its more a feeling of discomfort rather than pain.
I'm only asking about blood pressure as my midwife said any liver area pain (i.e. under the right rib) could be a sign of pre eclampsia and is best to get checked out. |

My blood pressure was fine on Monday and other than the pain I feel well.
The pain is subsiding a little now and I can feel bubs wriggling around. |

With all three of my babies I had excruciating pain under my ribs. There was no way I could lay to alleviate it either.
Im not sure if its because I am quiet slim and baby was very tight in there or just where bubs was sitting. By all means have it checked out to be safe but it could just be where baby is comfy and in that case I feel your pain!! |

Further to that, when at work I do find sitting up straight in my chair, almost on the very edge of my seat with my legs slightly apart (not the most ladylike lol) and pelvis and belly falling forwards helps a bit, it seems to relieve the under rib pressure a bit

It hurts when they do that! One of my sisters broken my mum's rib and came out with a huge bruise on her foot where she'd stuck it under her rib. DD also like be burrow under my ribs and would get her whole bum under there over night.

OP, if the pain remains excrutiating after a change of positions or lying down on your left side for a while then I would see your doctor for a check up.
The pain of having a baby under your ribs can be really uncomfortable, painful and annoying it shouldn't really be excrutiating. Gall bladder and other liver problems can present this way so I always think it is good to be checked out. Good luck, hope it eases soon. |
