So one of my favourite bands, They Might Be Giants, are finally touring Australia again biggrin.gif Last time they toured they only played 18+ venues and I was a couple of months shy, so missed out. They're playing Groovin the Moo and we're heading along to that, but the Sydney sideshow is on a day we can't make it.
So, DH suggests I fly down to Melbourne to see them, have a nice night on my own in a fancy hotel and fly back the next day. It would be an early bday present for me. DH got to see them last time they toured so he's happy to just see them the once at the festival.
Sooooooo, is it a completely over the top thing to do that I'm 99% sure I'm going to do anyway? And any Melbourne TMBG fans heading along to the show? Tounge1.gif

Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur.
DH and I both flew down to Melbourne from NQld to see the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra play the music of Dr Who.

Completely extravagant. TOTALLY worth it!

Need a partner in crime? I'd be happy to fly down to Melb and see them with you, but DH might get mad original.gif

We've been fans for over 20 years!

Even managed to convert my children. Especially when Constananople appeared on PS3 Dance Central! tongue.gif

No way, I have flown from Sydney to Perth to see Kyile when she resumed her concerts after being treated for breast cancer.

No, not over the top. If you think about how much you went out when you didn't have kids (assumption here), I think you can justify a big blowout for a band you really love. I'd totally go if I was you.
