Wasnt sure where to put this - here or toilet training!

So, DS2 has been in undies for some months now and is usually pretty good but on occasion, he doesnt make it to the toilet in time or he cant get his undies off quick enough and wee goes on the floor.

Luckily, this has never happened on the carpet, it always seems to be on the tiles.

The problem is - I have not been able to find a method for cleaning of the wee that doesnt leave a yucky feeling (and looking) film on the tiles. Ive tried disinfectant, bleach, dimestos, spray and wipe, washing power, dishwashing liquid.

I usually clean my tiles using an enjo floor fibe but in this case - firstly id like to use something to kill any germs, get rid of smell etc and secondly, I dont want my enjo fibre being all wee-ified!

Any suggestions?

I use hot water and 'Handy Andy' tile cleaner, I also add a splash of pine o clean and there doesn't seem to be any scum left on the tiles.
I would keep the Enjo well away from the pee too, I know they supposedly clean without product but I think wee might be beyond their scope original.gif

I'd honestly just use water. Wee is nearly water anyway. All those products you list are probably what is leaving the film you describe.

A dry cloth (terry nappies are perfect) to soak up the spill, then a wet one to wipe over the spot. Chuck the nappies in the wash and hey presto you're done.

I use the same approach with carpet too. Soak it up, then wet it and soak it up some more...

I use old cloth nappy to soak up mess, then quick wipe with a nappy wipe for any residue. Haven't had any problems with this technique. No marks, no smell, very quick and easy.

A Father with prostate cancer meant that I had a lot of wee spills to clean up - and not nice clean toddler wee, stinky adult man wee.

Water and a cloth first. It was generally enough

If it needed it a bit of pine-o-clean or some such in the bucket when I washed the toilet floor.

Another vote for the cloth nappies - I had a stack of them, and they got a huge amount of use, just never actually as a nappy LOL
They soak up the wee really easily, even from carpet if you get to it quick enough. Then I'd just do a wipe over with a wet cloth.

If it makes you feel better there shouldn't actually be many germs in wee. It's pretty close to sterile. It's got ammonia in it and they actually use it for cleaning oil paintings.

I wipe up with a dry paper towel, then wipe over again with a damp paper towel. We've never had residue on our floorboards.

I use a cloth nappy, then wipe with a baby wipe. Never had residue left on the floorboards here either.
