I'm wanting to use less chemicals in my home a I have a child with asthma

I know that many people talk about using vinegar and bicarb.
I have no problem trying these things but do they actually really do a good job of cleaning? Or are they time wasters?

I've read that a huge amount of elbow grease is required.....does this mean that I could basically just use nothing or a damp cloth to get the same effect?

Would like to hear your experiences.

I use bicarb on my caesar stone benches and polished concrete floor for stains (both are white) and find that works a treat.

ETA i use sugar soap mostly for cleaning surfaces etc

I did try the vinegar - but it stank! That and i always wanted chips lol. I switched to Enjo products and they clean wonderfully. Helps my asthma plus my eczema has gone too.

I always have a spray bottle filled with water, vinegar, and a squirt of dish liquid. I use it for heaps of stuff, wiping down cupboards, benches, the high chair, walls, windows...it works great!

ETA, I add the dish liquid because it makes for a streak free shine on glass and stainless steel (which is most of my kitchen!).

I swear by it the fizzing action loosens the dirt making for an easier clean.I hate the smell of chemical cleaners. Nothing gets the sink shiny like a bicarb and vinegar scrub

I prefer water, eucalyptus oil and a squirt of dishwashing liquid. - smells lovely too.

I use thieves. Fan-bloody-tastic.

Leaves the house disinfected, chemical free and smelling nice!

Just wanted to second how brilliant the vinegar, water and squirt of dishwasher liquid works! on everything! If the vinegar smell bothers you, I sometimes add 10 drops lavender essential oil.
