Any bugs going around at the moment that cause migraines, severe upset runny stomach (and I mean severe!!). An a general nausea feeling.

Im not sure if it was from the chinese food we had on Saturday or if Ive picked up a bug. Kids are all fine and I havent really been anywhere other than Saturday shopping and chinese in food court (probably a big boo boo!).

I thought it was cycle related as Ill often get an upset stomach a few hours or a day before but its just once, where as this has been 24+ hours now and a lot worse. Im also 3 days overdue and wondered if my body is just having a mini me meltdown as its late lol.

So anyone else got a bug like that at the moment?

I understand that there ar a few going around at the moment - others have mentioned media reports to me. I had one for the last 8-9 days, and lost almost 5kg, still a little sensitive.

I know parts of Victoria it's been going around. DP was off work for a week and half his workplace had it, although I was just a little squirmy for a few days. He had stomach/gastro symptoms, and flu-like symptoms. One doctor at a super clinic said it was gastro, another that it was flu. No kissing, washing his hands constantly and keeping his things separate from us seemed to help us not pick it up.

Both my children have come down with something very similar.

DS woke up with a headache on Sunday early hours, by early afternoon he had a temp and wanted to sleep all afternoon. No Vomiting or diarrhoea. On Monday he felt a lot better, with no headache and no Temp. By lunch time on the Monday he seemed back to his usual self.
DD complained about a headache last night as she went to bed, early hours this morning she woke with a temp and did vomit the once. She is currently laying on the lounge watching her favourite movie. Trying to decide if school is an option tomorrow, but most likely will keep her home for an extra day.
For us it has been a 24-36hr bug so far

I am in Sydney (Inner West) and have a few friends with it. I woke up at 3am on Sunday morning with nausea and shortly after started vomiting. I ended up calling an ambulance and having the paramedics put me on IV fluids and was given a shot of ondansatron to stop the vomiting. The nausea was far worse than morning sickness.

Lots of dizziness and very low BP. Really bad headache and achy joints.

My partner and 17 month old have had it too, but far more mildly (thankfully). No vomiting, just chronic nausea in my partner and an unsettled, tired toddler with no appetite.

Seems maybe it hits pregnant women harder, so take care not to dehydrate like I did.

ETA: Feeling almost 100% today, so just a 48 hour bug in our case.

juju38 I couldnt imagine having this and being pregnant! I feel sorry for you having that while pregnant, not nice!

Thanks all, is there anything else other than red cordial that is known to kill stomach bugs? Coke? diet coke? I know theres supposed to be several things that assist with bugs but cant recall them at the moment.

Hope you are feeling a bit better OP.

DS 1 came down with a horrid bug early in the morning on NYE. dS1 was vomiting. Within 8hrs DH had the runs as well. dS1 and DH were really sick for four-five days and took a week for them to feel normal.

I just felt off for two days and DS2 ans DD had two listless days, but otherwise OK.
