Hi - thinking of going to Fiji when DD is about 7 mo. Would be staying on the mainland and getting a transfer to the resort. I assume it would be a mini bus type thing. Do they have any sort of baby seats or would I just have to hold her on my lap?
Has any one been with a baby this age - what did you do? |

We had an airport transfer to denaru and had a 1 yr old. There were not car seats for her or my 3 year old. I'm also not sure if you can request them or not as I cant recall seeing any child restrained in their cars. HTH Fiji is amazing I cant wait to go back !

|
I went when DS was 15mths old. Most people get private cars from the airport ( pretty cheap) and they can supply baby seats if needed. If you are booking through a travel agent they should be able to organise it. They are readily available in fiji from my experience.

I didn't see any child restraints in the mini buses in Fiji when we went - I can't even recall if they had seat belts. Maybe look at getting a private transfer (when did this last time in Fiji and in Phuket and request a child seat. That being said we did this in Phuket when my DD was 7 months, and they sent a mini bus with a child seat, but it was in the front sea, wasn't anchored and was told it was not safe to use!)
Another alternative would be to hire your own car and either hire a seat or take your own. |

Weve been twice. First time we got the shuttle - no seats.
Second time we booked a private transfer (minibus but just us in it) and we got car seats. They were not very well installed but probably better than nothing. |

We hired a car in Fiji. It was an easy place to drive and I would have been bored out of my brain just staying in the resort. Then you could take your own or hire one with the car.
Shuttle buses in Australia dont offer car seats (or any buses for that matter) so I doubt they will in Fiji! Private transfer, contact your hotel once booked and I am sure they will provide. |
