Hi All,

I'm 39 +1 and sooo ready to have this baby. I had quite active pre labour for 5 days at 36 +5 which made me think I was going to go early, then it all died now. With my first I went into labour spontaneously at 40 +5 so I have every chance of going into labour naturally, I just need to be patient! Most of the time I'm ok, but at least once a day I get all frustrated and start thinking about (or trying) nipple stimulation, harassing my DH for some action, booking in for acupuncture etc, none of which i really believe will work unless your body is ready anyway. (except prolongued nipple stim over multiple days, and no way am I patient enough for that anyway!)

I am trying for a VBAC and have an excellent, patient hands off obstetrician, and I know my best chance of achieving this is waiting for my body and baby to decide when they are ready to birth. I also have zero pregnancy complications and a very active baby so there is no reason to hurry, I'm just being impatient!

So please give me some wise words and encouragement to help me relax, enjoy this last week or 2 a little and let my body decide.

EFS

I once read a theory that this impatience you're feeling is actually specifically designed to help you get through labour later. Like, you get so impatient that by the time labour comes you welcome it, rather than fighting it, which of course speeds it along.

Does that help?

All the best with your VBAC, you can do it!!

Yes Tesseract it does! I remember last time when labour finally started being really excited. So maybe I should just embrace my impatience. biggrin.gif
