Hi all,
Just wondering what I will need for a winter baby? I'm due 30th May and am struggling to remember what I bought for #1 but really need some help with a list for what is needed for the first three months.
We have good quality gas heaters at home, so I thought maybe just a long sleeve jumpsuit or singletsuit and cardigan and wraps would be fine? I thought it would be much easier this time but it's a completely different season so I'm really lost.
Thank you!

I had my DS in June last year. He essentially lived in wondersuits (so long sleeved, long legged footed jumpsuits) with a singlet, and spent most of the first few weeks sleeping in a wrap and a bunny rug. We had lots of suits, for the inevitable wet/poop through! We were given a few trackpants/sweaters that we put on to out in public, with socks, a beanie and a rug over him in the pram. He was pretty toasty Our place is quite cold, so for us the tricky thing was keeping him warm at night. We ended up leaving a heater on very low in our room (where bubs slept) overnight to keep us all warm, especially for me getting up to feed during the night! Bubs stayed warm in the wrap and a blanket over the top. Best of luck!

My DD was born in May in a very cold area but we had a warm house and always had a heater on low in her room at night (in fact my DH kicked her out of our room for this reason , he couldnt stand the warm room). During the day she always wore a singlet day and night. Onesies at night and then during the day I had her in a long sleeve suit (with no legs) and then a pair of pants with inbuilt feet if I could find them. We went out everyday so she rarely stayed in her onesies (also she was a crazy poooer so at same stage during the night they got poop on them). I found feet hard as socks always come off and I always 'double socked'. Put the socks on under the onesie or built in feet was a trick I found worked. Then i put a hoodie or cardigan on her and a beanie and all good. Boys you can quite easily dress them over top of the onesie so they in effect have 2 layers of clothes. Obviously you can with girls too but I found the pants/leggings for girls often dont work as well. I still do this with DS on a cold morning when I am doing kindy drop off and dont have time to get him properly dressed. I just put on jeans, a hoodie and socks overtop his pj onesie. One thing I found was the winter baby got given a lot of rugs for presents.

We've decided to buy mostly coveralls, we have the terry towelling type (some wondersuits, the rest target $6 each, so not to worried if we over buy the target ones). We also have some prettier coveralls for when we go out, and a few 2 piece outfits bought by others (I wasn't planning to buy any 2 piece myself, as I didn't want to be re-adjusting her clothes if her belly became exposed etc, figured a coverall is easier to keep her warm). I also plan to always have her in singlets.
I've also gotten some little cardigans and hoodies to go over the coveralls on days when it's more cold, and we have bought a bunch of socks. And MIL has made some wraps for the pram to keep her toasty if we're out at night, or a cold day.
I'm planning on getting some sleeping bags, not sure yet what brand. I haven't spent a winter in this house before, but going from how it is on a cool day it will probably be cold.

Thanks everyone!
Bonds online have some great deals on baby and maternitywear at the moment so I've bought two Zip Wondersuits (2 for $30) and singlets in 000 and 00 as I'm sure we will receive a few plain Wondersuits. I'll look out for some socks and get a few more cotton short and long sleeve onesies.
We have plenty of blankets from the last baby, as well as bedding, baby bath, breast pump, hats/beanies and shoes. Now I just have to buy some nappies newborn & infant, wipes, another carseat and I think we're ready. We have a few bibs but we never used any with the first baby until she started eating. Have I missed anything??
Our first bub has really bad eczema so we're staying away from wool this time.
