Can anyone give me any insight into what happens when QANTAS cancels the flights that you are booked on? We are booked ADL - SINGAPORE in May/June.

QANTAS has announced today that they are cancelling the direct service. I called QANTAS but the lovely lady I spoke to said that they haven't been told yet but we should get an email sometime in the next week but she didn't know when it would be or what it would say.

So what normally happens in this situation? Do they re-book us on non direct flights? What happens if we don't want to go via somewhere else - can we get a refund? Would we get everything back or just the airfare less taxes?

Thanks in advance.

Generally it depends on how many people are already booked on the flight - just because they're cancelling the direct service at some point doesn't mean that the pre-booked flights won't fly.

They will either rebook you on a non direct flight or offer you a refund.

That would be good if it was the case lep_78 as we really wanted the direct flight for the children.

Even the frequent fliers I know aren't sure yet, however they will get you where you're booked to go...

You will rescheduled onto a new flight either via Sydney or Perth probably. You can either accept this or get a full refund. This is what has normally happened in previous cancellation of flights.

Qantas is cancelling Adelaide to Singapore. Perth to Hong Kong and Perth to Singapore is now only one a day down from twice daily.

My DH just got a full refund for his flight, but he had to argue with 3 different people to actually get the money back as they wanted him to just accept the flight through Melb.
