I have been given a beautiful hungry little caterpillar sleeping bag from Target. It seems very thick - thicker than my other sleeping bags rated 2.5 tog. It doesn't tell me the rating on the bag. Does anyone know how I would find out what tog rating it is?

I don't think the cheaper ones are tog rated unsure.gif Doesn't necessarily mean they are warmer than the 2.5 tog however. I've had cheap ones and tog rated ones and the cheap ones feel heavier/fluffier but I've never found they make baby warmer if that makes sense?
I think they just have more cheaper filling than the tog rated ones which have better quality material.

I could be totally wrong this is just my theory lol

I'd just be careful with how hot baby feels when using it and keep something light under it.

I'll be watching for other replies.

I think it depends on what it's filled with as well. Polyester can overheat a baby while cotton or wool lets them breathe and self regulate their internal temps a bit more.

The Hungry Little Caterpillar ones are polyester filled. I had a similar one for DD and boy did she ever overheat in it. It was great on the really cold nights but we didn't have too many nights that got down cold enough for me to be comfortable using it.
