I'm clueless with electricity and gas companies and accounts. Apart from ringing the company I'm with and asking how I can save money, what should I look for?
Do people compare usage rates? Contract conditions? What? And do I just ring various companies and find out what deals they have? Or are there any insider tricks (I wish!) that I should know about? Cheers! |

I moved just before Christmas and spent ages reviewing electricity deals in the new area. The date was moved up and I ended up speaking with Electricity Wizard who found me a better deal with the same providers that I had been looking for. They connected it all - I never spoke to the company and just sorted everything. It was no cost (to me anyway!). There has been no problems, the deal has come through, very very happy

What state are you in? I know in NSW IPART sets the electricity price, it can't be discounted, but they can offer discounts on your total bill for paying on time. We are with Australian Gas and Power and get a 14% discount.
\We used to get 7%, energy Australia set us a letter offering 12%, so we rang Australian Gas and Power and asked could they price match? And they offered us better (on a 3 year contract). |
