DD went to sleep easily last night, without complaint and at a 'normal' time. After almost 6 years of frustration for both of us I only wish we'd started sooner.

Thank you melatonin. ddance.gif

WOOOO HOOOOOO~~~~~!!!!!!!!

Update: It's been about 5 nights of DD getting proper sleep and the change is incredible. She's concentrating better (relatively, given she has ADHD), is less moody and less defiant. She got herself up this morning before everyone else, got dressed and made her breakfast, made her bed etc etc I came out thinking she was still asleep only to find her sitting at the table drawing a picture. Amazing! She's almost a different kid and I can't believe my eyes! Her teachers are also suitably impressed with her behavior this week. ddance.gif
Now to see if it continues..... hands.gif

Update #2

It's been nearly 2 mths now. We tried one night off to see what would happen and it took an extra 3 hours for DD to get to sleep! We were kind of hoping that using it may have reset her clock. Nope.
I have to say it's been like some kind of miracle potion. DD still has ADHD but getting more sleep has resulted in less meltdowns and relatively better concentration. If only it weren't so damned expensive and was available on the PBS.

I'm hoping for that too. I really do think a proportion of the behavioral issues we have are because of chronic sleep deprivation.

Isn't melatonin only allowed for those over 55 years old, for maximum of 3 weeks?

or are you using the 'homeopathic' variety with no active ingredients?

You can buy it from over the states and it gets sent out.
I brought 2 bottles and it was under $30 for the both inc postage.
Works wonders for DP who would otherwise wake up every hour normally.

Melatonin is commonly used for kids with ASD who have sleep difficulties. I was about to got there myself for my son too after his sleep turned to the pits but he seems to be getting back there.

Great news OP!
