It's OK. I would spell May like this. Dorothy is fine with Alice. Not too keen on NN Dottie/Dot but nothing wrong with it.
I would like Dorothea May much better but it looks a bit long next to Alice. I'm liking May as a first name as being a bit different in that slot. Alice and Thea would go well. This post has been edited by Gudrun: 04/02/2013, 12:07 PM |

Dorothy is pretty cute - I wonder if you will end up with Dorrie as a nickname?
Ad Mae sounds lovely with Dorothy. People might mis-spell it as May, but as its a middle name I don't think that it's a big issue. |

Sorry I don't like it. If I was Dorothy, I'd be mighty annoyed that my sister got Alice.

Thanks for your replies, Mae is the name of a treasured family friend (spelt that way) which is why we're going that way. Also there's a big chance this baby will be born in May and i don't want people to think thats her name cos we ran out of ideas IYKWIM!
Mabel Mae seems like a bit of a mouthful to me, but thanks for the idea. |

Dorothy is sweet, and I think it's a name we'll see more of, though at the moment it still feels a little old-fashioned. I like the NNs. Others are Dolly, Dodie. Dorothy Mae works together.
Florence for another name of same style? |
