So first post, and I've gone and started a new topic! Way to introduce myself!
1st pregnancy so struggling on the basics...
Do I really have to wear bras without underwires? I just hate the sweatyness when the girls are not supported correctly! Does anyone have any experience with underwires through pregnancy (surely I can't be the only one)
And everything I've read says I need to wear underwear below the bump. I've only just started to "bump" and the undies sit right on where I cramp/get pains. I'd much prefer full briefs without the top elastic like Bonds rolltops...
Any advice/suggestions? Pros & cons?

I can't really help you with the undies - I have only just started to show (though it still just looks like I ate too much at christmas ) and my normal ones are still quite comfortable.

As for bras though - my boobies exploded at about 5/6 weeks and I have always worn underwires as I like the support and shape they give.

I found some good maternity bras give me just as much support and a good shape I have some berlei ones and loveable ones - not too expensive either!

I bought some Elle McPherson maternity bras on sale from the Bendon website. They give me great shape: which surprised me because before pregnancy I only wore underwire. They both have matching undies which sit under my bump and are comfy. Other undies I've found good are the seamless ones. HTH!

Hi OP, I was told that wirefree bras are a pregnancy necessity as underwire bras can impact blood flow and interfere with milk ducts developing.

I bought 2 Bonds wirefree bras and whilst I don't love them they are more comfortable than underwire but on the downside they don't offer as much support. Think I might need to move to proper maternity bras soon (I am approx 17 weeks) as my breasts are becoming fuller/heavier.

As for knickers, I'm in the same situation as you, I prefer fuller briefs but they're starting to cut into my growing belly/bump (I notice it more so at the end of the day when I feel full and bloated). I am curious to hear recommendations from others too!

An underwire is going to give you issues so while there are no pregnancy police (it just feels like that sometimes!) it's something you should consider very carefully as your health is precious and having blocked ducts and breast issues suck.
With undies - I really liked the Bodywise v front bikinis as they still covered my bum while not cutting into my bump. In that case though I think it's over advertising to tell you that you need special unders for a pregnancy. Wear whatever you want!

My OB made a point (as I was 10E starting PG) of saying so long as your bra fit properly, wear under wires. I wore then until 28wks first PG, 24wks 2nd Pg and only lasted until 8wks 3rd PG.

First two my bibs hardly grew early on, third PG I was going up a size every 2-3wks.

All three times I ended up with 12J being too small

Although I only BF for 6wks each time, no blocked milk ducts.

I came in from Recent Topics but Bras N Things does an underwire maternity bra that you can remove the wires from on the days where you are a little larger. It's a really comfy bra too (I have four of them)

Target has maternity briefs at the moment, they're bikini style though. Apparently Bras N Things are getting maternity briefs to match their more popular maternity bras early this year too.

HotMilk does maternity briefs and really comfy bras that hold the breasts apart for the more well endowed women that don't have underwire.

I've found some maternity bras that have 'flexiwire' that is apparently OK (mine is Elomi brand). I didn't find them too much different from my ordinary underwire bras but a tonne better than without any underwire. Might be worth a look?

Can't help you with underwear though sorry. I wear quite full briefs and they are still fine at 15 weeks!

Gosh, must I break all the rules? I had no idea about not wearing underwires.

I wore underwires with both pregnancies one and two breastfed DD1 for 12 months, and fed DD2 for over 2 years, never had a problem with supply

On the advice of a close friend, I had a few singlets and crop tops to wear right after baby was born and waited to get maternity Bras once my milk had come in.
