I am at my 30 weeks and my new bubba will be a boy. My husband and me like the name of Kieren, but I know it is not a very popular name here. Can some one give me some idea about this?

It's a lovely Gaelic name. I will say that I have also seen it spelled Kieran, and the gaelic spelling is Ciaran.

I think it's nice. Not too common, but not so unusual that people will think it's made up.
I think it had a burst of popularity in the 70's because all the Kierans (spelt like that) I know are in their 30s & 40s. I did meet one who pronounces it Ky-ren (rhymes with Byron). Please don't do that! |
