So I am turning the big four zero in a couple of weeks and have decided to treat myself to a leather hand bag. I usually make fabric ones for myself but think it is time to invest in a leather one.

So I'm after classic style, good quality under $300.

Anything by Vivienne Westwood. Though to get something half decent and authentics you are looking at around $500.

Vivienne westwood isn't very popular here in Australia, so your bag will defintely turn heads. I often approach people who are wearing her gear and say WOW !!!

I'd go for Oroton - they might be just over your budget, but they do have good sales.
Or check out Mimco for something more fun. Ditto on the price and the sales...

Another vote for Oroton. They have a 50% off everything sale about twice a year but there probably won't be another one before your birthday as the last one was only about a month ago. However, they often have smaller sales throughout the year.

Oroton all the way here! They have two factory outlets in Sydney where everything is usually discounted 50-60%.

Have a look on ebay you can get some great bags new and for a bargain.
Careful if going for big names eg LV, Gucci as heaps of fakes but some a genuine and if you can spot the fakes you are ok.
Regardless lots of other brands on there that are excellent quality even if are not designer
