Hi,
My 2 week old DD2 has been on 90mls of formula since leaving the hospital when he was 5 days old, however the last few days, if she is still awake an hour after eating, she's looking for food again and screaming until she cries herself to sleep. It is very rare year dad for DD2 to be awake and not crying, she just seems so unsettled and not happy. Should I increase her formula to 120mls?? I feel like a first time mum all over again bc she is just so different from my first. |

IF she is consistently draining her bottles, I would be upping the size. Otherwise - this is a typical age for a growth spurt. Her tummy is still very tiny, she may just want a few more bottles than usual.

With DS they, the hospital... gave me a table of when to increase the amount ? I sort of recall it increased by 20mls .... over a set time? But I do know it would be at least every week ? Perhaps you can ring and ask??

Perhaps you can ring and ask?? I know you are well meaning, and I don't want to be rude, but this is how people end up with overweight/underweight FF babies. Just as with breastfeeding, you should let your baby guide you - not some table or formula. Some babies will drink a LOT, some a little. Most of them manage to figure out their own groove, and thrive and grow. Again - no offence intended. |
