It,s been a week since I was induced and gave birth to my (deceased) son. This was a third time lucky ivf baby. early bleeding, but all okay. Had received concerning 12w scan ratio and was recommended to have an amnio. Went through with the amnio at 16w but within the day leaked amniotic fluid. Lost 3/4. Scanned following day and heartbeat still present. Harrowing wait till next scan 2w later. No heartbeat. OB suggested to induce instead of d&c as less risk to future fertility. Lost my son at 17w5d. My heart is broken.
Has anyone else had similar experience? Is there any hope to move forward and go on to try ivf again? Still have 9 eggs for fets. How long before others could try again? |

Princesspeachzz, I am so sorry your little boy couldn't stay here and have joined our angels in heaven.
Yes there is hope in having a healthy living baby after a loss and most woment go on to have another baby. Give yourself to time to grieve the loss of your little boy (did you name him) and when the time if right try again that that maybe in a month, 6 months or a 1 year only you and your partner with know when it is right. |

Thanks for your kind thoughts. Yes, we named our son Bob as we had been affectionately calling him that since the beginning. Even though DH an I had been thinking of names, can,t bring myself to think of him anything but Bob. today is his cremation funeral. Whilst I expect it will be will bring gut wrenching sadness, I'm hoping it will help so we can try to find a way to move forward. Just wish the constant reminder bleeding would cease. Any advice on how long I,ll bleed for?

Hope today had been kind to you as you said goodbye to your precious Bob.
Moving forward will take time with lots of ups and downs on your journey, it's been 3 1/2 since I lost my first daughter and sometimes it still hurts like it happened yesterday especially around her birthday, due date etc. With your bleeding it depends on you, it could stop tomorrow or unfortunately it could go on for 6 weeks but if notice anything unusual contact your gp straight away sicne it coulod be an infection. |

I'm so very sorry for the loss of your precious Bob. There are lovely ladies in the Assisted Conception area of EB who you may like to join when you are feeling up to it.

I am really sorry to hear about your loss. How absolutely devastating!
Take a lot of time out to nurture yourself & your relationship with your partner. We all suffer. Personally, I would wait at least 3 months before a FET to ensure that your cycles are back to normal & you don't "waste" any embryos, especially if you are doing a natural FET. My little boy was born still at the end of June. I was so desperate to conceive that I did a stim 6 weeks later & transfer of my best embryo failed. I regret that now as my body just wasn't ready. I did later get a BFP in November but I still haven't dealt properly with my grief. Have you received the results of your amnio yet? |

Hi
I am so sorry my journey has been similar. On our Third Stim Cycle we were pregnant with Jamdrop and at the 12 week scan we got bad news high risk for Tri18, 13 and 21 we were 1:2 for Tri 18 we had a CVS as our baby also had a very large and swollen bladder. I had spooting at 7 and 9 weeks and again after the CVS. Our baby had a totally blocked Urinary tract and was going into kidney failure already, they have now told me he wouldn't have made 20 weeks. We were induced and Noah passed 22.11.12. I have no frozen embryos. I bled for 3 weeks and at the 6 week mark got AF back again. I also had my milk come in and got mastitus which was devastating. I start my next and hopefully lucky 4th stim in March. My ob said as long as I had one period and was after 6 weeks from the birth he was happy for us to start again. I am so so sorry huge hugs. |

it seems that so many people have been effected by such heartbreaking loss. terrible thing to have in common. Thanks everyone for your kind words. Really comforting to know I.m not alone on this journey.
This week had a final visit with my OB. All test results are back and sadly nothing was wrong with Bob nor the placenta. OB concluded that it was Just a tragic result to the amnio that went wrong. Hard to think that he was perfect. Nothing wrong with him. But as the counsellor who has been helping us deal with the grief said, torturing myself over this will not bring him back. Just have to look in the positive side that there is still hope for the future. |
