Hi,
My sister is after honest opinions on the name Lumeah for a little girl, it is pronounced Lou Mi ah. It was our nana's name so I like it, but that could be because we are familiar with it and our nan was a gem. She was Lumeah Isobel. Our dd is Isabelle and my sister would like to use Lumeah, with Lou as nickname although Mia obviously works too. Be honest (but kind) it was my beautiful nana's name Thanks This post has been edited by 2littledarlings: 03/02/2013, 07:09 PM |

Not my style. Sounds a bit like an anatomical term to me.

My daughter has my nannas name for a middle name. It's unusual, and perfect. Just like her.

In Sydney it would be a def no, as its the name of a less than salubrious suburb.

I know the name as a suburb in Western Sydney so that might be a factor to consider. Otherwise, i would describe the name as uncommon but as having a nice sound.

Sorry, the Sydney one is actually Leumeah, but still an issue.

It makes me think of the candlestick from Beauty & the Beast (although I am pretty sure that was actually Lumiere).
Personally I wouldn't use it, but I don't have a problem with it. The family connection is nice too. |
