I have been reconsidering my short list (Maeve has been the front runner so far) and I have fallen in love with Neva (an alternative to the popular Eva).

Because it looks like a misspelling of never, although I realise it is not pronounced that way. I can see primary school aged kids being all over that. lol

I prefer Neve/Niamh or Nova or Eva, but I think. It's perfectly fine.
I don't think it's going to attract too much teasing as I'm assuming it's pronounced like Neve with an A on the end and not like Never? |

Pronunciation has little to do with kids picking up on teasing potential IME.
