There was a thread here some time ago and the OP was adamant that she would be calling her DD Harlequin, but with some sort of "cre8ive" spelling?

The responses were overwhelmingly negative, but she seemed oblivious. rolleyes.gif

So I was wondering, does anyone know, did she use the name?

I didn't see the actual thread on this particular forum, however I know of a baby girl born very recently named Harliquinn and yes, the comments prior to her being born were overwhelmingly negative, with many people saying it was cruel to use the name, albeit with a different spelling. The parents believed it was a beautiful name and the large majority of people would not associate it with the disease.
For those that don't know (and I didn't) there is a disease that affects children named Harlequin's Disease. I did not google it, but believe from others it's is very sad.

No, not Harley Quinn.

Mummywhere are you - That spelling looks right. Probably the same one. Is she a friend, could you ask her if she is on EB?
It's not life or death but I'd be interested.

I believe you may be referring to me. As I had mentioned it in a thread and had a pretty negative response.

We used it for a middle name in the end. The spelling wasn't creative, we used the spelling as per based on the batman character, and it wasn't that I was oblivious but the reasons given to not use the name didn't persuade me to not use it.

A batman character? Really?

I am not surprised you had many negative responses. But a middle name can be hidden or forgotten about, thank goodness.
