DH and I plan to buy land and begin to build later this year. I want to start getting interior design inspiration now so I can incorporate any relevant aspects into the build.
My style is hard to pinpoint, but certainly more colourful and creative than project homes. I've decorated my current home bit by bit over 5 years, as we were renovating I had the luxury of taking time with each room. The new built home will be a medium sized 4bed+study home on acreage overlooking bush/mountains. Can anyone recommend websites that I could draw inspiration from? |

I drool on houzz regularly. I have the iphone app and flick through pictures while breastfeeding.
Pintrest is also good. I find it a little overwhelming sometimes and prefer to follow certain people's board rather than searching a generic item. |

Hey, OP. I just came in to this section to ask the very same question - hope it is ok to join in rather than start a new one.
houzz is great. I have recently joined and can now save all the pics I like. It is good because when you save a pic there is a space to write why you like it - ie I like the lamp in this picture or I like the colour of the walls etc. It is gret to go back to. We have already moved into our house - like op we are on acreage and have bush around. Long term (finances) we want to replace all of our furniture but it will be timber, not sure of the colour, but natural and not the dark colours. In our old small house we had a maroon/blue/cream colour scheme but we are getting a new sofa (colour undecided) and as the rugs are getting tatty we will replace them. Am feeling liberated to have a blank canvas but no idea about colour schemes. So my long winded question is..... How do I choose a colour scheme for my house? DH likes purple, I like neutral, 2 boys so we have enough blue. I am loving greens at the moment but am concerned it is too faddy. Any ideas? We have cream walls (Grand Piano) and light timer floors. Lots of windows |
