Hi ladies,

7 days ago i gave birth to my DS, he is my second bub.

I got a 1st degree tear which did not require any stitches.

I was just wondering how long it will take to sort itself out and close back up iykwim?

Midwife said with stitches it takes around 12days, but i cant remember what she said about without lol.

I have my GP appointment to get bub checked on Tuesday as we left hospital right away, so ill ask my GP then too.

Cheers.

I had a second degree tear which was unstitched. It took a week or two to close up but months to heal. I was still having pain for up to a year post-birth. Good luck!

I had a second degree tear with stitches and was back to normal by my six week check up

ETA: sorry didn't really answer your question! A friend of mine had a first degree tear without stitches and she said she was also back to normal by the six week checkup

Yeh i had sticthes last time due to second degree tearing.

This time i am not uncomfortable or sore, just a bit itchy and stingy today, but i was told thats normal, and to just keep it clean.

I found that it healed in about 2-3 weeks. I found sitting on a boppy pillow really helped with the pain while sitting.

Feel good!
