This is a Formal Cheese occasion.
Stupidly left DD's uniforms on the line for a day or two too long. The dark blue of the bottoms and the red tops now have sun bleach/faded lines through them sad.gif Is it possible to somehow redye them? Google isn't being a lot of help. Is it as easy as soaking them in blue or red fabric dye?

I'm not sure, but that must of been some extreme heat. I am in Perth where it is super hot and no fading issues even when the clothes have been left on the line for 2-3 days. Maybe I need to hang the bright colours in the shade?

No idea sorry. I would assume that yes you could dye them. Coudl be hard though if they have logos on.

During summer I hang DS' school uniform in the garage. Navy shorts, navy plaid shirt, bright red house shirt, they all fade so easily in the sun.

It was extreme heat and we had some health issues going on so they got hung and ignored for longer than I care to admit Tounge1.gif I like the idea of hanging in the carport, it would be easy to run a line across, thanks.

I might visit spotlight tomorrow and do a test shirt, see if it affects the logos.

If they are the schools official uniforms I would actually take it up with them/the supplier and see what they suggest.

If they have the SPF factor in them they shouldn't fade should they? shrug.gif

I don't know if this is appropriate in your situation but I have coloured in bleach marks on clothes with permanent marker before. Would depend how big the lines are.

It lasted a long time but needed to be repeated eventually.

If they are cotton, they will dye very well. If the logo's are synthetic thread, they shouldn't be affected. I have a few Bonds wondersuits that dyed beautifully and the sewn on Bonds logo on the chest wasn't changed in any way.

I would colour them with permament texta. I find using dye a PITA. Cotton is not hard to dye but any polyester content will make it much harder.

I love dying clothes! My favourite dye is the dylon machine dye thst they sell at Woollies because the washing machine does all the hard work. Works best in a front loader. I wear lots of black which always fades on the line so I re dye it all every few months and they're like new again.

I would just leave them. School uniforms... Meh.

I suppose I *might* soften and do something if it was going to be a big deal to my kids.
