hi ladies, please excuse my lack of paragraphs, my enter key on my computer isnt working for some reason...anyway i just want to know if anyone had any luck using natural things to fall pregnant? My cycle is a little bit irregular lately (first from illness where i had to take antibiotics and steroids, then from a cp) and i am trying to bring my o date foward as its been way too late. I am using milk thistle, heaps of fish oil, baby aspirin, red raspberry leaf tea, pre natal vitamins, chia seeds etc, making healthy smoothies and eating nothing but salads, steamed veg, water etc, no white flour/refined food, no sugur, no caffine, no dairy, no alchohole, ciggerettes etc im being super good! Did any of these things work for you? any advice would be greatly appreciated! thanks! tthumbs.gif

Nope, have to admit I tried absolutely nothing but good old sex when I was ovulating, and bingo, 2 x pregnancies. I think I might have been taking pre-natal vitamins but that was it.

Mum of girls
A good friend of mine who works at a fertility clinic, has told me before that the majority of problems they see are related to two things only:

1. not enough sex
2. parents-to-be being overweight.

NB: I'm NOT saying this is true for ALL people struggling to become pregnant, just that these are major causes of infertility apparently.

I was fairly healthy when I got pregnant, fairly fit, in my early 30's, eating well, with a BMI around 27 or so - so not in the 'healthy' range. We just had sex at the right time - didn't do anything else to help it along.

Sorry that you are struggling.

Actually being underweight was a problem for me.

My BIL is a dairy farmer, and said "skinny cows don't have calves". So I put on a couple of kilos and shazzam.

Hmm...was he insinuating I was a cow !??! lol

Sex. That worked.
Hahaha.

I think the best rule is to have as much sex as you can around your ovulation days. I was taking some prenatal vitamins, but that's mostly to make sure I had enough folic when I did conceive.

The only thing I did was to chart my basal temperature leading up to when I conceived. I did this for about 2 months before I conceived. I started 'trying' (i.e.stopped taking the pill) the month before I did fall pregnant. I used an app called Menstruation & Ovulation tracker downloaded from Itunes which helped me plot the data to see any trends. To be honest, I wasn't exactly sure when I was ovulating because my true temps were only done for the month prior to conception and I fell sick with a really bad flu that month. And I actually fell pregnant the week before I actually thought I conceived which meant I actually ovulated much earlier than I thought.

Oh yeah, and go on a holiday. Mine is a holiday baby I smuggled home on board after a ski trip in NZ with DH. Hahaha.

P.S. I've heard raspberry leaf tea shouldn't be taken in early pregnancy. It's mostly used in late third trimester to help ease your contractions. I don't know whether it works or not but the information I have is to avoid it in early pregnancy.

I fell pg first time both times (first ended in mc) i contribute that to eating well and regular acupuncture - acupunture was not specifically for fertility but it got cycles in order.
of course plenty of BDing probably a minimum of every 36 hours in lead up to O
Good Luck original.gif

We tried for 18 months and had 1 MC, I had one appt with a fertility clinic and the Dr removed a cervical polyp, the next month I was pregnant. Maybe TMI but when we concieved DS and this one we had sex multiple times in the 48hrs around ovulation, like 4 times a day. My understanding from A&P is that there needs to be a LOT of sperm to get through the zona pellucida.
