Newbie at Tafe

Ok i am starting Tafe next week.. Plan is to do that for a year then on to UNI.. I fell lost .. Do i need a backpack, pens note, books, computer? I dont want to rock up looking like a d*ck.. You would think i had things worked out at 30 Oh and its a Assistant in nursing course if that makes a difference!

I've just started Tafe externally and I had to attend an information session where we all formally applied for the course (both on campus and external students). At this session we were told all relevant information. Is there going to be such a session for your course? If not, I'd be phoning the Tafe and asking them about what you'll need.

TAFE teacher here.. You will need on your first day: Pens, something to write on, lunch or lunch money, and a pag to carry it all in! Oh and a BIG smile for your lecturer!

Aww I miss studying! I plan on doing a TAFE course soon. To answer your question but its obviously already been answered - but yes, I used to pack a pencil case with some pens, highlighter, sticky notes (to scribble important stuff on or use for bookmarking text books) and a stapler for keeping notes and paper together. Along with a notepad and a bag to carry it all in. I also packed a waterbottle as well and a diary so I could keep track of what assessments/study I needed to do for the classes. In one of my classes (Project Management), we were asked to bring a archive folder with plastic sleeve inserts in it for assessment to hand in. You may be asked to do this I don't know but I loved the idea so much I got another one for my own notes from each week and it came in handy for study time and assessments as I could tell which notes I needed from each week instead of making a mess! Good luck and enjoy your study! How exciting! P.S I found TAFE teachers so much more hands on with their students more so than Uni.

Are you doing the EN course through tafe or an AIN course? Im in Vic and would love to to do either of those to help get into Midwifery. I hope you settle into the course and enjoy it!

Apart from the obvious.. pens, paper, highlighter...cute pencil case and a pencil and an eraser.....I 2nd a plastic wallet folder....handy for all the handouts. . And maybe a white out pen and a ruler I LOVE stationary
