Was going to go on Monday but just found out my doc is away for 2 weeks from this weekend

Doc visit uneventful. Blood test tomorrow then when I get the results she will refer me to the nearest maternity ward for treatment from the midwives. She was very insistent I take folic acid and recommended a website called Anas diary. Will check it out now.

I'm two timing my IVF clinic so that my referral doesn't mention IVF on it (wanting to give birth at a Family Birth Centre ...the one at Mercy (Melb), it is AWESOME!).

So I went to the doctor and they arranged a series of blood tests (everything came back great) and then they faxed my referral directly to the hospital. Other than that, she gave me some forms - to book 10 week bloods and 12 week scan. She said the hospital would probably see me every second month and I should see her alternative months - and always bring in a urine sample. She gave the talk about listeria etc.

She worked out dates from my LMP. I told her the 31st Dec so that it would work out correctly.

My IVF clinic is monitoring me with blood test and an ultrasound up to week 8 and then at week 10 I am booked in to see a local GP/OB who works out of my local doctor surgery and delivers at a hospital close by. I debated whether to go to the big private maternity hospital I had DD at but the OB fees have risen SO much and after paying for IVF don't think we can afford it - esp if I can get good care cheaper elsewhere! So can't wait for that appt and I am doing hospital tour on Saturday!

It makes it a bit more real making doctor appointments doesn't it!

Got my blood test this morning. Hate it but the pathologist was awesome, chatting away and I barely felt it. Results in a week.

Then I went into town to pick up a new Medicare card coz the old one was expired, did all the shopping and drove home before realising I forgot to go to Medicare! Doh! Was so hungry doing shopping. Not fair there is sushi shop next to Coles which smelled so good today. But I don't trust eating sushi...

I've got a GP appt on Monday which I'm a bit nervous about. Just saw him 3 weeks ago for a Pap smear so it was a fast turn around! I'm usually REALLY sick even at this early stage so I'm a bit worried something's not right. Might ask for a dating scan. I've had a few friends battle through 12 weeks only to find no baby/molar pregnancy/delayed growth etc. can you imagine? 12 weeks getting attached, excited, busting to tell everyone then

I've always been of the mind to just wait until 12 weeks but gosh something like that is so awful
I'm already super attached....

Saw my Doc Wednesday but haven't had a chance to go to Path- going in the morning. FX for good results
