Lucilina. (I'm saying it "Lucy-lina" but sure my Nonna would say "Loochalina" which is okay but not sure which pronunciation i prefer yet)

DH doesn't know I like this name yet. I thought I'd made it up as a hybrid name but no, it's a real one, apparently.

One of DH's middle names is Luke so I thought if we have a girl that'd be a nice way to incorporate it while still "italian-ising" it which is what we've both agreed on for a girl's name, at least, due to my italian background and that long names suit short surnames better.

WDYT?

I was pronouncing it "lucil-lina. I don't know OP, its not the worst name I have heard but I think it's a bit of a mouthful.

She will probably just get called Lucy anyway

It looks nice written down but go outside into your garden, call out "Lucilina" 5 times loudly (both pronunciations if you are trying to choose between them) and only then decide whether you like the name. It's a bit of a mouthful and you'll be saying the name more often than you write it.

I like Luciana and Lucilla more than Lucilina which looks a bit in-between to my uneducated eye. I think both of those are used in Italian?

I do like Lina/Lena as a possible nickname, though.

Oh I do love a made up name!

Lucina is a real name. Pronounced Loo-china or Loo-seena.

I far prefer just Lucy - but then I'm not a follower of this 'long name to give options' school of thought

I prefer Luciana or Lucilla. Lucy Lina as separate names perhaps?
