Not sure how many squares our house is, but its a large house.
4 bedrooms, ensuite, bathroom, laundry, home office, formal lounge, formal dining, family room, kitchen, meals area off the kitchen and rumpus/theatre room. Our aircon just isn't up to the task. The house is zoned into day and night (living areas & bedrooms) but it just doesn't cool. At best the aircon stops the heat from rising too quickly, but doesn't ever bring the temp down even when we are using the zoning. It died altogether the other week and its back up and running again now (the service men replaced a capacitor) and checked the unit out and it's functioning fine, but just not up to the task. It's the highest KW rating we can run on single phase power. So what else can be done? Obviously we could find out how to get 3 phase installed, and upgrade the unit, but not even sure if that is possible in residential Berwick. How do others cool their larger homes? Any advice pretty please? |

I would get ducted air con exxy at first layout but better functioning for you large house. It will make a huge difference to your power and you are more in control of the air temp that way and don't have to rely on littlies telling you that they have turned off the air con when indeed that they have not etc.
If you plan to sell in a couple of years it will be a big selling point depending on where you are. |
