If a cat doesn't like you, then what's wrong with you?
My DS has been a shocking sleeper from about 6 weeks of age. He's not as bad as others, but he has woken frequently and will only resettle for boob. I have tried everything to resettle him without boob but it hasn't worked.

At the worst period in our lives he was waking every 40-60 minutes. We resorted to cosleeping in order to survival.

However, over the last week, he has still woken frequently but he has gone back to sleep without boob each time. He usually wakes up, sits up, I give him some water and then I lie back down and he rolls into my body and either rests his head across my belly or rests his head in the crook of my arm.

For the last 3 nights he has gone from 9:30pm to 3:30am without boob. He has woken up and then gone back to sleep on his own.

I don't know where this sudden change has come from as DS used to be a boobaholic. I have managed to cut down his day feeds to just his one day nap (sometimes he has more if he is particularly upset or something), but I'm thinking maybe my milk has dried up as I am pregnant.

Is this the start of better sleep? Do toddlers just suddenly change their sleep habits overnight without me doing anything?

My older two just started sleeping through the night without any help from me at the 16 month mark, we had brief sleep regressions when their younger siblings arrived but the regressions didn't last long.

DS1 has always been a good sleeper, by three months he was only waking once a night at around 2am.
DD was a shocking sleeper, we considered it a good night when she only woke 4 times! Then one night she just slept through, I was up to check she was still breathing about six times that night. We had a repeat of the sleeping through incident the next night, and the next night...

Since then she's only had about three nights where she has woken up overnight between 7pm and 4am, all three occasions she was sick.
