This questionnaire is designed to examine the experiences of mothers during the transition to parenthood. Specifically, this research is looking at how a mother's perception of her body may be linked in to her current mood levels and factors that might relate to body image. Your participation will assist researchers interested in understanding more about the reasons for body satisfaction or dissatisfaction in mothers.

What is required?

Participants need to be over 18, be a first-time or experienced mother and reside in Australia. Participation is completely voluntary and will involve completing a survey questionnaire in approximately 15-20 minutes. The majority of questions ask you to rate your responses on a scale.

Privacy& Confidentiality

Please be certain that your responses to the questionnaires will be held in strict confidentiality. Under no circumstances will this be violated. Participation is anonymous. There is no opportunity in the survey for you to disclose your identity. The survey data collected by the webpage hosting the survey is only accessible by the Investigator and her supervisors.

Informed Consent

This research survey is only available by accessing the below web-link. By completing the survey, you convey your consent to participate. You can withdraw at any time prior to finishing the survey by terminating your connection to the web-link. After completing the survey, consent cannot be withdrawn as your responses cannot be identified for removal.

I would have done it, but I don't know what I weigh, and I don't have a working scale at home.

Hi Ange, that's okay...you can make a guess or estimate your weight, it really doesn't need to be exact. I'm hoping to get as many Mums as possible before the end of May 2013 so you do have some time if you still want to participate. original.gif Jacintha

Completed. That was a very interesting survey. I'd love to know the results when it's completed.

My body image has changed significantly since having a baby. My belly is just a big jiggly wrinkling fold of saggy stretched skin sad.gif
