Hi,

Does anyone have experience with the Radford College waiting list ?

How hard is it to get kids in to each entry point? Early learning, year 3 and year 7. Is it much harder for those whose parents did not attend Radford?

I know that you can only be on the waiting list for one entry point. If you don't get in, your name rolls to the list for the next entry point.

We're keen for our kid to go there, however only for high school. Not really for cost reasons, more that we'd like her to have had experience with a public primary and not have been around the same kids for 13 years when she leaves. That just doesn't seem balanced.

Is it realistic to try and only enter in year 7 given it's the last point?

Just wondering as the hideous experience of trying to find daycare is spooking me out on matters of enrollment!!

Many thanks

Hi Cookter,
I'm interested in the replies too. I have put my 16 month old son on the waiting list for year seven. My husband is very pro public schools, so it is likely that he'll go to a public primary school (there is a good one near by) but we'd like to have the option later on. People I work with send their kids there and highly recommend it.

We live near Radford and our primary school often looses children in year 3 to Radford. Lots of people I know have their childrens names down. All have been offered their preferred entry BUT they have had them down since birth. I was also told recently by a Mum that rang to inquire about entry that the waiting list is girl heavy and boys have a better chance of entry. Interestingly two children left Radford this year and returned to our primary school as Radford was not for them, we also gained a few Burgmann escapees.

I know many ex Radford students and apparently being a child of an ex student is the best way to get in. 2 parents from Radford is even better. Kids of ex students get priority over everyone else.

Getting on the waiting list a birth is the best option for everyone else. But even then it isn't a sure thing!
